Expressions of Interest Requested Canada Summer Games Coaches

Triathlon Ontario, the provincial governing body for the sport of Triathlon in Ontario, is requesting expressions of interest from qualified coaches wishing to volunteer for coaching positions for the 2013 Canada Summer Games Team Ontario Triathlon Team .

Number of positions:  Two (one male and one female)

Minimum Certification required:  Certified Comp Intro in Triathlon at the time of application

Time Commitment:  Coaches must be prepared to commit to this project from December 1 ,2011 until September 2013

The successful applicants will be responsible for:

·         developing a Games strategy that is sensitive to the requirements of the board, ministry and athlete development

·         planning and executing clinics and camps targeting Canada Summer Games 2013 eligible athletes from 2011 until the Games

·         assisting in the development of a team selection process and criteria

·         assisting in the selection and ordering of compliant team uniforms

·         attending the mandatory Team Ontario pre-Games camp to be arranged by the Sport Alliance of Ontario

·         continuing communication, through Triathlon Ontario website and staff, to all athletes

·         writing a post-Games report evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of Ontario's Games strategy, making recommendations for continued improvement for 2017

To Apply:  Applicants should submit Expressions of interest  including the following:

·         a cover letter, explaining what you can bring to the team

·         Coach Certification number (CC#)

·         experience working with athletes of this level

·         a short outline (no more than 2 paragraphs) of your approach to Canada Summer Games and what steps you feel are important to ensure Ontario's success

Please note:  This is a volunteer position - no compensation package is being offered at this time

The board of Directors will announce the coaching team prior to Christmas 2011.
