G.1 General Rules
The following rules apply to all competitors:
a) All competitors must have their helmet securely fastened from the time they remove their bicycle from the rack at the start of the cycle until after they have placed their bicycle on the rack at the finish of the cycle. OAT Mod – Securely fastened means that two fingers can be inserted horizontally between the chin and the strap.
b) Competitors must use only their designated bicycle rack and must rack their bike.
c) Competitors must ensure all unused personal equipment stays within their transition area and is not discarded on the field of play or left in the space of another competitor.
d) Competitors must not impede the progress of other competitors in the transition area.
e) Competitors must not interfere with another competitor's equipment in the transition area.
f) Competitors must mount and dismount their bicycle at the designated area or line.
f) Cycling is not permitted in the transition area. OAT Mod – Cycling in the transition area before the race start or after the race finish, including to “check gears” is not permitted
g) Nudity or indecent exposure is forbidden. OAT Mod – In the transition area, a temporarily bare torso of either a male or female competitor is not nudity or indecent exposure.
h) OAT Mod – Competitors, Officials and designated volunteers are the only persons allowed in the transition area. Animals or pets are not allowed in the transition area.
i) OAT Mod – Personal equipment or bags must be at the designated bicycle rack and contained in an area no wider then the handlebars of the competitor’s bike.
