SUMMARY:Triathlon Ontario - Age Group Open Water Swim Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Triathlon Ontario is once again offering world class Open Water Swim Clinics specifically designed for Age Groupers. \nThese clinics offer the opportunity for age group athletes to work with a variety of high-level coaches\, Olympic swimmers\, and high-performance swim analysts. \nOver the course of their clinic\, participants will be exposed to stroke technique tips\, open water tactics\, training philosophy and progressive training. \n  \nThis clinic offers the opportunity to work with Greg Kealey\, Triathlon Ontario’s Provincial Development coach and coach of Team Ontario. \nParticipants will work in the open water and gain a better understanding of stroke technique and the laying of a training foundation that will create a good base moving forward. \nDue to the very small number of spots\, these clinics offer a truly exceptional opportunity to work with a high-level coach in a small group\, but available spots will go very quickly. \nAs part of the registration package athletes will be receiving complimentary a Triathlon Ontario silicone swim cap. \nNote: due to Covid 19\, these clinics will be run in small groups consistent with gathering limits. Clinics are entirely outdoors. Participants will observe physical distancing where required. \n  \nSchedule\nSaturday August 7\, 2021 \n11am – 11:45am – Open Water Discussion – focus on stroke technique\, open water technique and tactics\, training philosophy \n12:00am -12:45am – Water Session #1 – focus on stroke technique \n1:00pm – 2:00pm – Water Session #2 –  focus on open water techniques\, beach and deep water starts\, sighting\, rounding buoys\, swim exit to transition \n  \nTo Bring\nPlease bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on\, food/drinks\, sunscreen. Swim gear including goggles & towel. Wetsuit optional. \n  \nLocation\nJames Dick Quarry \n18060 Hurontario St\, Caledon Village\, ON L7K 1W5 \n  \nPrice\nCurrent members $100 \nAll participants must be current Triathlon Ontario members. \nPrice does not include processing fees. \n  \nAbout the Coach\nCoach Kealey is one of the most experienced development coaches in Canada\, having earned a number of international and national coaching opportunities as well as critical coach mentorships with internationally renowned coaches. It is a combination of these experiences and his core belief that coaches need to continually explore and be open to learning that have provided Coach Kealey with insight into the demands of the sport along the pathway from young development athlete to professional ITU racing
