SUMMARY:North Bay Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The North Bay Triathlon started after the Schmidt family athletes attended a triathlon in Ottawa in the early 90’s and came back to North Bay saying “We should do that here “.  Arne and Judy Schmidt along with the support of the North Bay Rotary Club made it happen and the first one sold out months ahead with about 75 participants. The organization of it eventually switched to the Kiwanis Club\, especially its triathlon members. \nThis weekend is a true\, all-around community event which shows off North Bay’s hospitality and unparalleled camaraderie. The support of local partners and the City of North Bay is second to none. All three of our triathlon events meet the highest standard and are sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario. \nAll three events are based at the North Bay Canoe Club/Olmsted Beach at the head of Trout Lake on Lakeside Drive\, in North Bay\, Ontario. \nWe welcome you! \nREGISTER

For 16 years and counting\, Sonny has worn badge number 283 with pride and continues to work towards improving the quality of life for all the residents of the Algoma District. \nAlongside the preliminary duathlons\, taking place at local high schools\, Sonny and the DU283 team will connect with students and community partners\, promoting physical and mental well-being. Both physical and mental health are equally important for overall well-being. As Chair of the Algoma Family Services Foundation Board of Directors\, Sonny Spina has committed all funds raised through DU283 to AFS Foundation\, ensuring all monies collected in support of youth mental health remain local. Through awareness campaigns and fundraising initiatives\, DU283 will raise funds and work to bring clinicians to Sault Ste. Marie\, ensuring every infant\, child\, youth\, adult\, and family will get the mental health care they need. With your support\, we can continue to inspire hope and wellness within our community.
