SUMMARY:Triathlon Ontario Draft Legal Provincial Championships
DESCRIPTION:Triathlon Ontario’s signature event\, the 2024 Provincial Championships is back on August 31. \nThe all draft-legal race lineup offers all the usual Cup Series races\, Mixed Team Relay Club Championships\, Age Group Super Sprint and a new AGe Group World Championship Qualifier in a new Mixed Team Relay for teams in 10 year age groups. \nThe all draft legal races include: \nU15 – 1x Super sprint \nJunior – 2x Super sprint with times added to decide winner \nElite/U23 – 2x Super sprint with times added to decide winner \nAge Group Super Sprint – 1x \nAge Group Mixed Team Relay World Qualifier\nMixed Team Relay Open Category – open to all\, mix and match clubs & provinces as long as everyone is in the same 10 year age group. \nMixed Team Relay Club Championships – all athletes on team from the same club\, \n  \n  \nThe events take place at International Flatwater Centre in Welland. \nMTR Registration fees are $200 per team ($50 per person). \nAll participants must be Triathlon Ontario members (or members of their home province’s triathlon association if not an Ontario resident) at the time of the race. (Except MTR Club Championships – all athletes must be Triathlon Ontario members.) \nThere are no time trial/tri bikes allowed\, only road bikes. Age Group drafting rules are in effect for the Super Sprint and MTR races. \n  \n2024 Race Schedule \n  \nInformal Course Familiarization – Friday\, August 30th (anytime) \nRace Kit Pick-up – Friday\, August 30th 5pm \nPre-race Meeting – Friday\, August 30th 6pm \nTransition Opening – Saturday\, August 31st 6am \nRace Start Times (approximate) \nElite/U23 & Junior Men Heat 1 – 7:00amElite/U23 & Junior Women Heat 1 –7:20amU15 Boys – 7:25amU15 Girls – 7:30amAge Group Super Sprint (Men & Women together) – 7:40amElite/U23 & Junior Men Heat 2 – 8:20amElite/U23 & Junior Women Heat 2 – 8:30amMixed Team Relay Races – 9am \n  \nIMPORTANT NOTE: Road closures begin at 6:30. It’s possible to get to the venue after roads close\, but Canal Bank St. and Townline Tunnel Rd. will be closed\, including the front entrance to the Flatwater Centre. To get to the venue after roads close\, take Prince Charles Dr. S. and turn east on Shaw St. This will take you to the rear entrance to the Flatwater Centre. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here for more information about how to qualify for World Championships.
