DESCRIPTION:TTC Collingwood Spring Training Camp is 4 days and 3 Nights! Come train in the Blue Mountains and build some early season volume. \nThis camp is geared to all skill levels.  For those looking to increase strength and  endurance we will be riding big hills and have options to go long (rides can be 2 – 4 hours).  For those newer to the sport or those looking for lower intensity we will have shorter rides on less challenging terrain\, but you will still have an opportunity to gain volume and learn new skills.  You will need a road bike or tri bike ideally.

DESCRIPTION:Triathlon Ontario is a Provincial Training Day\, led by Certified NCCP Competition Coaches Brenda Walker (Tomenson Performance & Wellness)\, Lucien Peron (Team Atomica Chargers) and Provincial Development Coach Greg Kealey. These Training Days are aimed at draft-legal pathway athletes regardless of their home club or training environment.\n\nPurpose: to provide enhanced training opportunities (technical swim\, run and seminar sessions) that align with Triathlon Ontario Athlete Development Model and improve athlete sport specific skills and performance. The sessions help supplement athletes’ home club training and expose them to coaches with provincial/international experience\, aligning with the overall PDP mission of building racing and training environments across Ontario.\n\nSwim Session 11:30am-1:00pm \nTechnical/Strength: Maintaining rhythm and timing when increasing stroke rate\, building swim specific strength and a pull dominant stroke using bands\, paddles\, pull buoys and resistance swim tools.\n\nRun Session: (Indoor Track) 1:30-2:15pm\nForm drills to enhance and support proper run form and stability. Foot work drills\, improve power production and reduce ground contact time.\n\nCSIO Seminar Series 2:30pm-3:30pm – Introduction to Mental Performance with Fiona Meikle. This seminar will introduce the topic of Mental Performance training in competition\, in training as well as areas out side of sport. SUMMARY:TTC Skills Development/Newbie Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Our full day triathlon skills clinic is a comprehensive training day designed for newer athletes who are looking to enhance their triathlon skills and abilities\, or seasoned members looking to improve their times. This clinic provides a unique opportunity for triathletes to come together to learn from each other and train under the guidance of experienced coaches. \nIn the swimming session we will breakdown the common fear with open water swimming and participants will learn techniques such as proper breathing\, body positioning. We will focus on open water swim skills such as sighting\, drafting turning and navigating through a crowd. A wetsuit is strongly recommended. \nDuring the bike session participants are coached on bike handing skills including mounting\, dismounting\, cornering\, and will receive instruction on gear selection\, hill climbing and descending. \nWe will break for lunch and hear about nutrition for triathletes as well as demystifying and understanding transition. Participants will have an opportunity to practice transition skills as well. \nThe running session will talk about basic form and mechanics as well as pacing strategies\, and activation exercises to prevent injury. \nOverall this full-day triathlon skills clinic is an excellent opportunity for triathletes to improve their triathlon knowledge\, tri skills\, meet other athletes\, receive expert coaching and guidance. \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Youth Track for Triathletes
DESCRIPTION:Triathlon Ontario has partnered with the National Cycling Institute Milton (NCIM) to Offer a Youth & Junior Track Cycling Program at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton\, Ontario.\n  \nThis seven week track cycling program is specifically designed for youth and junior triathletes\, and is a unique opportunity to develop drafting\, bike handling skills and fitness in a world class facility during the winter months. \n  \nTriathlon Ontario strongly believes a facility such as the Milton Velodrome offers a significant advantage for enhanced development of Ontario triathletes. The facility offers the ability to develop critical bike handling skills necessary to be successful at the national and international level during a time when most triathletes are training on stationary wind trainers. \n  \nSession Details \nThe session is called “Youth Track for Triathletes” and runs from Dec. 16th through to Jan. 27th (times vary). The course is open to athletes ages 10-19 and includes track certification. Track specific bikes are available for rent\, free of charge for those that require a track bike. \n  \nThe course is run by NCIM’s track cycling coaches and the cost is $183.75 plus HST. Spots are limited to 25 and are on a first come first serve basis. \n
