Announcing 2015 Sprint and Standard Distance Provincial Championship Venues

January 26, 2015Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial Governing Body of Multisport in Ontario, announced today that the Toronto Triathlon Festival (TTF) will host 2015 Provincial Championships for both the Sprint and Standard (Olympic) distances.

The event will take place on June 21, 2015, an earlier than usual date due to the 2015 Pan Am Games.  This is the fourth year of the event, which has consistently been one of the largest triathlon events in Ontario, but first time hosting Provincial Championships.  The TTF has played host to multiple National Championships over the past three years.

For those competitive athletes that hope to claim the Provincial crown in either distance, you must be a member of Triathlon Ontario and can do so here or to see the numerous membership benefits including supporting the growth and development of the sport click here.

The TTF has also been deemed a National Qualifying race by Triathlon Canada.  As such, there will be three automatic qualifying spots in each distance for each gender in each age group.  For those interested in wearing the maple leaf in 2016 in Mexico but may not finish in the podium, there is still a very good opportunity to claim an extra spot but you must race in a qualifying race such as the TTF.  Anyone interested in competing at the Age Group World Championships must also be a member of their Provincial Governing Body in the year of qualification and competition.  Please see the Triathlon Canada website for more information.
