Triathlon Ontario’s signature event, the 2026 Provincial Championships will be held on September 5th once again at the International Flatwater Centre in Welland.
The format for the races are Super Sprints. There is both a strategic and logistic reason for this versus Sprint or other distances. From a strategic perspective, short fast racing promotes the development of tactics, fast transitions, speed and recovery (for those doing two heats). These are areas that both Triathlon Ontario and Triathlon Canada have identified as gaps in development in our national talent pool. From a logistic point of view, having a shorter course allows for a smaller footprint, allowing for an excellent spectator experience.
All participants must be Triathlon Ontario members or members of their home Provincial Governing Body if not an Ontario resident.
