Drafting Certifications

Drafting certifications are free of charge and open to 2026 Triathlon Ontario members 12 years and older who are proficient and ready to be tested. Drafting certifications are required for any athlete to compete in the 14-15 Youth Cup, Ontario Summer Games, Junior Cup, or Elite/U23 Cup, as well as at the national or international level.

Drafting certification is not required for Age Groupers to compete in any draft legal competition.

Certifications are evaluations, not “learn to draft” clinics. Athletes should be proficient in the skill sets tested, with proper equipment, prior to arrival.

Equipment

All athletes are required to have road bikes with clipless pedals and cleats on their shoes in order to participate in all testing drills.
