Canaqua Sports is a proudly Canadian company based in Toronto, dedicated to bringing the excitement of open water swimming and SwimRun racing to athletes across North America.

Founded in 2015, we began with a single open water swim event in Ontario and have grown steadily—first expanding across Canada and, since 2024, across North America. In 2025, we launched Mudskipper Events as our U.S. brand, while continuing to operate as Canaqua Sports in Canada.

Our journey started with a passion for open water swimming, but in 2017, we introduced our first SwimRun events—combining endurance, adventure, and teamwork in a truly unique race experience. After a brief pause during the COVID years, we came back stronger than ever with the launch of the Mudskipper SwimRun brand, expanding our reach and redefining the sport for athletes everywhere.
