Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka Deemed a Long Course National Qualification Race

February 18, 2015 – Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial Governing Body of Multisport in Ontario, announced today that the July 5th, 2015 Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka race, the 2015 Long Course Provincial Championships, will also be a National Qualification race for the 2016 ITU Long Course World Championships.

The race will have one qualification spot per age group per gender available to qualify for the chance to wear the maple leaf in 2016 at the ITU Long Course Triathlon World Championships, to be held at the Redman Triathlon in Oklahoma City, Okla.

For those looking to qualify but do not finish first in their given age group, there is still a very good chance to qualify as all unclaimed spots are gathered into a pool and then open for general registration by Triathlon Canada at an announced time. To be eligible all you need to do is race in a qualifier, be a member of your Provincial Governing Body in the year of qualification and competition and contact Triathlon Canada at the pre-announced time to claim a spot. The Subaru Ironman 70.3 Muskoka race will also play a significant part in Triathlon Ontario’s new Long Course Provincial Series as it will be worth 1.25x the points in the Series. For more details about the Series please click here.
