Triathlon Ontario Issues Call for Board Nominations and Annual Award Winners
September 30, – Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial Governing Body of Multisport in Ontario, issued a call for nominations to its Board of Directors as well as nominations for its annual awards.
Board Nominations
Triathlon Ontario is a membership-based non-profit organization with voting rights for all registered members, and any member with a vote is entitled to nominate a person to sit on the Board. Triathlon Ontario welcomes all member’s participation in this important process.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on the afternoon of November 8th, 2014 (approximately 5pm) at the Novotel Mississauga, located at 3670 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario.
In order to nominate an individual for the Board of Directors, please complete the attached nomination form and nominee profile by the deadline of October 16th, 2014. If you would like to nominate someone, please ensure that you and your nominee is a member of Triathlon Ontario.
Under the governance structure, there are eight elected positions on the Board. There are currently four directors serving a two-year term who will continue as a director this year. There are four positions to be elected in 2014. The officers of the organization (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer) are elected by the Board once it is formed.
Desired skills sets for the Board include various business (finance, accounting, marketing etc.), law or insurance professionals.

Annual Awards
Every year at the end of the season Triathlon Ontario hosts an awards luncheon to recognize the accomplishments of its members. In addition to athletic achievements, there are a number of awards that celebrate the contributions of the sport’s most important people such as coaches, volunteers, builders and officials.
Due to the number of members and achievements, Triathlon Ontario relies on the nominations in order to celebrate its member’s achievements. If there are no nominations for an award, no award will be given. Please have the nomination forms in by October 16th, 2014.
The annual awards luncheon will be held at Novotel Mississauga, located at 3670 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, Ontario at 12pm. Details of the annual day of seminars and guest speakers is currently being finalized and will be announced shortly.
