Triathlon Ontario Offers Velodrome Track Certification Course

– Complete both certifications at same time –

January 22, 2016Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial Governing Body of Multisport in Ontario, announced announced it is offering a unique opportunity to earn both “A” and “B” level track certifications at the same time on March 19th, 2016. By completing both track certifications athletes are then able to participate in most programming and drop in riding held at the Milton Velodrome. Due to the limits of the track and the certification process, the course will be limited to 20 spots.

Since hosting the indoor track cycling component of the 2015 Pan Am Games, the Milton Velodrome’s track certification courses have routinely sold out in a matter of hours after opening registration. The majority of the courses offered are for either “A” or “B” levels, but rarely both, and both are required to be able to participate in the various programs and races held at the facility.

Triathlon Ontario’s course takes place from 8 am until 10:30 am and includes the cost of a track bike rental in the registration fee. The cost of the course will be $150 for Triathlon Ontario members and $175 for non-members. Registration for the Fast-track Track Certification course can be found here.

Athletes will also receive as part of their registration package, complementary Infinit Nutrition Jet Fuel during the course to help keep them properly fueled.

Besides being incredibly fun and a great workout, riding on a fixed gear track bike with no brakes provides numerous advantages to triathletes looking to enhance their training. Improvements on bike handling skills, increasing bike specific fitness and speed as well as developing drafting skills are just some of the reasons every triathlete should add track cycling to their training regime.
