Canada Games Track Certification

September 20, 2016Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial Governing Body of Multisport in Ontario, announced today registration is open for Indoor Track “A” and “B” certification. This certification course is for those Junior athletes aged 16-19 as of December 31, 2017 and are interested in attempting to qualify for the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

Triathlon Ontario will be running a series of clinics, training sessions and testing days as part of its selection criteria for the 2017 Canada Summer Games. The training sessions may include workouts at the Milton Velodrome and therefore, athletes must be track A and B certified in order to take part.

The certification will take part on October 2, 2016 from 3-5:30 pm. The fees include cost of track rental, track bike rental and cost of private certification. All participants must also create an online profile with the Town of Milton separately BEFORE the date of certification. Please do not sign up for anything or make any further payments on the Milton website.

Each certification course is limited. If demand warrants another course, another one will be scheduled. Participation in the October certification is NOT mandatory in order to be considered for the Canada Summer Games team, this is an opportunity to expand cycling skills and experience.

Triathlon Ontario is currently developing and finalizing the 2017 Canada Games Selection Criteria and will publish it when it is complete.
