The North Bay Triathlon started after the Schmidt family athletes attended a triathlon in Ottawa in the early 90’s and came back to North Bay saying “We should do that here “.  Arne and Judy Schmidt along with the support of the North Bay Rotary Club made it happen and the first one sold out months ahead with about 75 participants. The organization of it eventually switched to the Kiwanis Club, especially its triathlon members.

This weekend is a true, all-around community event which shows off North Bay’s hospitality and unparalleled camaraderie. The support of local partners and the City of North Bay is second to none. All three of our triathlon events meet the highest standard and are sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario.

All three events are based at the North Bay Canoe Club/Olmsted Beach at the head of Trout Lake on Lakeside Drive, in North Bay, Ontario.

We welcome you!

The Triathlon Weekend is a long standing tradition in the town of Leamington.  Having started out in a local family’s backyard pool and racing around their neighbourhood, the race has grown quite a lot over the years. We have become more than just a triathlon!!

The race includes Leamington Kids Triathlon, Adult Try-a-Tri, Adult Do-a-Du, Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Duathlon, Open Water Swims, and 5km Run.

A full day of events based at the popular Wasaga Beach. With a swim in Georgian Bay, racers will have a flat and fast bike with a few small hills and a fast run course along the waterfront.
